my friend wants to go to a photography school...any suggestions?
i cant suggest anything to her since i didnt go to any school for photography...
she specifically want to especialized in "underwater photography"...a relative of
hers suggested this school called IAFT (http://www.study-film.com)...
however she wants to check out some other schools...help anyone?...

-Film school is not exactly the same photography school...I've graduated from
both a lonnnnnggg time ago. Really depends on what her ultimate goals are, studying in Southeast Asia
may be fun but not realistic if her goal is producing TV commercials ...
and *specializing* in underwater photography while just starting out may be
a mistake (maybe...who knows?) -big question.... does she have a slide portfolio? the best place to
start is at the top =p tell her to check out The Rhode Island School of
Design; The School of the Musieum of Fine Art, Boston; The Santa Fe
Centers For Photography; The Seattle Centers For Photography; The
College Of Creative Study, Detroit; Cranbrook Institute, Ohio. All of the schools have application information online and information
on portfolio evaluation. some such as Cranbrook will require advanced
degrees for placement.
