I have a daughter who's starting to get into photography, thinks
she might want to do fashion work, but she's borrowing cameras from
school and doesn't have her own. what kind of cameras are usually
used by fasion photographers? If I were going to build a package
for her, like a "tools of the trade" package, what should go into it?
I had a friend mention that I should look at uBid for cameras because
of their habit of getting great refurbished stuff, but I'd like to get
something to go with it. Lenses? A particular kind of film? Are there
certain kinds of flashes?
---------------------
If you are serious, you will need: 1. A good SLR body (Nikor or Canon.) 2. A pair of good lenses:
a. A 85mm f1.8
b. A 50mm f1.4 3. A decent flash (Nikon- SB-26 or SB-28.) 4. A flash bracket (for vertical shots -- the shadow will not
flow to one side, a downer in fashion shots.) 5. Film would depend on how the stage is lite. Once you have
determined the warmth (or coolness) of the stage-runway lighting,
you may need a filter or two to get correct colors.
