has anyone ever gone to this event. Its coming up here (Vancouver)
at the end of March and it will cost $60 for a day long seminar with some
notes included. Is this a good deal, especially since I know precious
little about photography.
---------------------
-I attended this seminar several years ago, when I first got interested
in photography. I found it very helpful and not at all Nikon oriented.
I learned alot of things that made picture-taking easier, and things
that made it easier to remember what to do without consulting a manual. -I attended this school in Dec 1997. The course is basic but very
interesting. One can always pick up some good tips. The instructors
were funny & knowledgeable. They would explain the scenarios in which
the pictures were take, which made it very interesting. The best thing
about it is that at the end of the course you feel very motivated. It's
definitely a day one would enjoy. You get a chance to handle Nikon
equipment (F5, F3, 80-200 2.8's etc....). And it's very informative for
Non-Nikon people too. They give out a handbook, which is informative. The
price I paid was USD 99. But it was worth it & I would go again. -I went to the school in '93 as an advanced amateur, and enjoyed
it very much. A lot of it is pretty basic, but I was pleased
because they covered some advanced topics like creative uses of
flash, fill flash, macro, etc. I also got to see some great work
in the form of slide presentations, and the friend that I went
with (a beginner) talked about it for a week. For $60, run,
don't walk, and sign up!
