Photography in Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge (NYC)

I'm curious to know if anyone who visits this website has visited the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge in New York City. I live about 15 minutes from the refuge (and Gateway National Park). I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has photographed the birds and other wildlife there.

I was scheduled to go with NYC Audubon Society but had to back out. They run a great nature photography class which goes out there. From everything the teacher and the students have said, they rave about the amount of wildlife visible, as well as the great skyline views of NYC. Supposedly early morning and late afternoon are best, early morning for the birds, late afternoon for the sunsets. Sounds like a great place and I hope to get out there as soon as possible.
