I am experimenting with a business idea involving taking kid's sports
action pictures and seeing if I can sell them to the kid's parents or to
the kids themselves. If you stop and think about it, look at the
tremendous market there is out there, especially with the explosion of
girl's sports. The parent has no trouble obtaining a still photo of their
child, but how many can get good action shots of them? I don't know of
any photographer in my area who offers action shots of athletes. I may be
really naive about this as far as the cost involved and my estimation of
demand so I would like some feedback from anyone who would like to give me
their two cents. Also, I am struggling a little in trying to figure out
how I would get the parents the chance to see my pictures...any ideas?
Don't be afraid to shoot my idea down, I want some honest opinions!!

I think it is a good idea. I know of a photographer home that does this
as well. He shoots hockey, baseball, soccer, tennis,dont for other sports
such as figure skating, and skiing. There are also league sports, School
sports, and so on. Shoot everything. With hockey the face mask is a minor
problem. If there is a demand rent ice time and do posed shots on the
ice. Make sure yuou have enough in the line of deposites to cover the cost.
