Since I went to both 1973 and 1979 and now retired, I think I might give you a few points. Photography school can be a two edge knife. People expect you to know everything about photography. Something that is unrealistic. Like in all schools, you learn how to learn. This is different then having your head filled with photo facts and figures that some people delight in doing as a hobby. What the two edge knife of going to a photo school? Well it's like this. Take a bone doctor. That doctor can admit he doesn't know how to transplant a heart and you would think nothing of it. He would still be a doctor in your eyes. Let a food photographer say he doesn't know how to photograph a car for a major advertisement and what would you think? You would think, what kind of trained photographer is he? No one realizes that trained photographer might only take 2 or 3 hours to learn how to photograph a car where as the person off the street might never learn how to do it.
