can I use "real" photography paper to print digital photos on?

I hope this doesn't sound too laughable. But I wanted to know if one can print digital photos out on real photography paper. You know, the kind that is used in a darkroom. I happen to have 2 dozen sheets left from when I took photography in college. Obviously, I don't have much use for them now, but I just got a digital camera and noticed people talking about "photo paper" for better quality digital photo printouts. So, that got my brain thinking
.... anyone know?

Real photo paper is silver on paper aquirting ink on top of the silver is not going to produce much of an image. give the paper to someone with a chemical darkroom.
